Google Releases Android 15 in AOSP, Samsung Testing One UI 7

Google has officially uploaded the new Android 15 operating system to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). While this system is stable, it is currently only available to developers. For now, the updates are not even ready for the highly anticipated Pixel 9 series, which is set to launch on October 15th. Despite this, smartphone manufacturers are already working on their own custom versions of Android 15.

Samsung is Testing One UI 7 Based on Android 15

One major manufacturer, Samsung, has announced that it is already internally testing its One UI 7 superstructure in beta form, based on Android 15. This means Samsung Galaxy users are likely wondering when the stable version of this new interface will be ready, and when they can expect the first updates.

Historically, Samsung has been one of the quickest companies to roll out updates to a new stable version of Android. This time around, however, the timeline is a bit different.

When Will One UI 7 Be Released?

If you're eagerly awaiting an update for your Samsung device, patience will be key. Samsung has officially revealed at its developer conference that the stable version of One UI 7 will not be released until early 2025, alongside the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. These new devices will be the first to receive the update.

For older Galaxy devices, the updates will likely begin shortly after the S25's release. Samsung has always been committed to delivering quick updates to its flagship and mid-range phones, so users should expect timely upgrades in 2025.

One UI 7 Beta Release Before the End of 2024

However, there's some good news for Samsung users who can't wait. Samsung is planning to release a beta version of One UI 7 before the end of 2024. Those interested in testing the beta version will be able to sign up for Samsung's test program later this year.

Compared to previous years, Samsung's update schedule is slightly delayed, but for good reason. The company has stated that One UI 7 will feature a major redesign, focusing on simplicity while still delivering an impressive user experience. Samsung wants to ensure that this update is polished and free from issues before its official release.
