HONOR has announced that its upcoming Magic7 smartphone series will be powered by Qualcomm Technologies' revolutionary Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform. During the Snapdragon Summit 2024, HONOR revealed its plans to develop an ecosystem centered on artificial intelligence. This announcement showcased breakthrough AI features that will be available in the Magic7 series, including the industry's first AI autopilot for an open ecosystem and real-time NPU graphics rendering for mobile gaming. Additionally, the company provided a sneak peek of its new flagship model.
"Openness and cooperation are part of our DNA," said Dr. Ray Guo, Marketing Director of HONOR. "By working with Qualcomm Technologies, we are creating the first AI-centric ecosystem that will redefine the user experience. We are thrilled to introduce the first AI Agent for the open ecosystem, bringing generative AI powered by NPUs to gaming for the first time. Welcome to the era of mobile AI autopilot."
Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile at Qualcomm Technologies, added, "We are excited to collaborate with HONOR in shaping the future of artificial intelligence and redefining how people interact with technology. Together, we have the potential to push the boundaries of AI and create transformative experiences."
The HONOR Magic7 series will feature the first AI Agent for an open ecosystem. Using simple text or voice commands, the AI Agent can perform tasks on behalf of the user, such as placing food delivery orders. With user consent, it learns habits and makes intelligent decisions, like ordering a preferred coffee blend or managing subscriptions across various apps. This AI assistant is poised to break down barriers between applications, creating a more cohesive and intuitive user experience.
Acting as a personal assistant, the AI Agent can handle a variety of tasks, including travel planning, booking flights, scheduling events, managing notifications, and transferring files between applications. Powered by MagicOS 9.0, the AI Agent will enhance convenience and introduce a new era of AI-driven mobile experiences.
The Magic7 series will be the first to bring NPU-powered generative AI to gaming, reducing GPU strain and lowering device temperatures for a superior gaming experience with enhanced image quality. This innovative use of AI marks a significant leap in the mobile gaming world, setting the Magic7 apart from competitors.
HONOR's collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies is leading to the creation of an AI-focused ecosystem designed to revolutionize connectivity, interaction, and performance. MagicRing technology is at the heart of this ecosystem, ensuring a secure and seamless exchange of services and information across devices.
For instance, Windows users on the Snapdragon platform can use Cocreator to turn simple sketches into detailed works of art. Thanks to MagicRing, HONOR MagicPad 2 users can seamlessly access Cocreator and create AI-generated masterpieces with the Magic Pencil. In addition, HONOR Magic V3 users can utilize the AI Eraser feature on their HONOR MagicBook Art 14 laptop, making AI tools easily accessible across devices.
With the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and MagicOS 9.0 operating system, the HONOR Magic7 series is set to pioneer the era of AI autopilot. This series will bring NPU-driven generative AI to mobile gaming for the first time, promising groundbreaking innovations. More details will be unveiled at the HONOR Magic7 launch event on October 30, 2024, in China.
