We have heard a lot about the Redmi K50 series since last year. The range will bring at least four smartphones - Redmi K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro + and Redmi K50 Gaming. After a few rumors and rumors, it seems that this month we will finally get to know the first device of this series. Redmi has confirmed that the Redmi K50 Gaming will be unveiled in China next week . This was quite surprising, because it will happen before the weaker pieces from this series are introduced. Last year, the Redmi K40 Gaming was the last smartphone discovered in this series, and the opposite is true for 2022. In connection with the upcoming release, Redmi publishes several trailers via its social networks .
Currently, the company is attracted to the performance of the phone for gaming. Teaser confirms the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, although previous rumors pointed to the SoC MediaTek Dimensity 9000 inside this gaming phone. Interestingly, Redmi states that "it's not just the gross performance of the Snapdragon 8 series." The company clearly wants to point out that performance does not depend only on the chipset itself. This is actually an interesting approach, since if most flagships of 2022 come with this chipset, what can distinguish gaming phones from standard flagships? Details only .
The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will be equipped with an efficient cooling system that will keep performance stable at all times. The device will have 40 percent better heat dissipation. An improved 4,860 mm2 discharge chamber should help. The company has also redesigned the phone's internal design and introduced new materials and procedures to increase efficiency. According to Redmi, the phone can easily handle games running at 90 frames per second.
Other details that make the Redmi K50 Gaming different from standard phones are the physical shoulder buttons. The phone brings slight improvements, but still uses a design where the triggers pop up with a mechanical switch. However, the shoulder triggers are rounded to match the curvature of the body. More than 40 elements of this mechanism have been redesigned.
Although the camera looks similar to its predecessor, the company has changed its details here as well. There is a metal frame with one piece of rectangular glass that protects the sensor.
And it is quite likely that Redmi will also unveil a special variant designed in collaboration with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team. However, GSMArena states that there is no evidence to that effect. So we'll see. After all, it can be just a render of a concept.
