On May 9, the Chinese giant ZTE has prepared the final unveiling of the last piece from the new generation of Axon 40 phones. Yesterday we got a detailed look at the set of sensors of the main camera, and today a colleague took a selfie. Of course, this is even more interesting, because it is a camera integrated directly under the display. And there are still not many on the market.
ZTE served us these details through a small teaser on the Weibo social network. We have some specific information about the used sensor and technology in black and white. The phone will have a 16 Mpx selfie sensor, which is equipped with 2.24 μm pixel fusion technology. It also offers a special 400 PPI flexible display technology directly above the sensor. And the final revelation is the advanced Proactive Vision Algorithm 3.0. He will take care of improving the quality of the photos themselves, because there has always been a large margin for similar solutions in the past.
FINALLY A STEP FOR THE BETTER?
Most previous attempts to integrate a selfie camera directly into the display have encountered physical limitations. Even when using special materials and technologies, there is always an obstacle between the lens and the light. And it is necessary to support the resulting images with an extra algorithm to clean up and calculate any deficiencies. However, previous ZTE models with a camera in the display offered only below-average final results, which could not be measured with classic selfie cameras. In this case, however, it should be completely different.
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra wants to be a heavyweight in virtually every way. The phone promises a fantastic frameless OLED display, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor or up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory. It certainly does not offend even the 5000 mAh battery capacity with 65W charging. The main attraction and star of the show, however, is to be the selfie camera integrated directly in the display. So let's hope that the work succeeds and the price of the phone also does not reach the starry heights.
