Oppo wants to ship some devices without a charger

To be or not to be? This sentence is not only a well-known Hamlet question, but it would also be suitable for a question about chargers. In other words, whether we find them included with the phones we just bought or not. We know that some manufacturers no longer include chargers with their products under the guise of environmental measures. A big player in this trend is Apple, which has been shipping its devices without charging adapters and headphones for two years. Even though some other manufacturers were worried about Apple because of this, in a relatively short time they also jumped on the "green wave" and canceled the chargers in the package. So even for some Samsung and Xiaomi products, we have to buy a charger . Well, according to the latest information, Oppo is also going to remove chargers from the packaging of some selected devices.

WHEN WILL OPPO CANCEL THE CHARGERS? 

On the Android Police website , we read that a discussion with company representatives took place as part of the presentation of the European Oppo Reno 8 series. At it, Oppo's president of international sales and services, Mr. Billy Zhang, outlined their plans for the future. Among other things, he mentioned that during the next year, he will cancel the chargers in the sales package for some products. There will be more of those products, but Zhang did not specify what they would be.

But he added in one breath that Oppo is very successful in developing SuperVOOC fast charging. He claimed that consumers sometimes have trouble getting SuperVOOC chargers, so they have to keep them in the package. However, in connection with the expansion of business transactions, they are trying to remove the charging adapters from the packaging and put them on sale freely. Thanks to this, users can easily buy and use chargers even if they get a new Oppo phone.

Zhang further hinted that the packaging without chargers will likely be limited to some markets only. But even in this case, he did not specify which specific markets were involved. He didn't even give a reason why they are withdrawing from the adapters in the package. But it is likely that the reason is to reduce e-waste. That is exactly what other manufacturers who sell their devices without chargers also state. And if Oppo cancels chargers, we will probably see the same step at OnePlus and other companies associated with the BBK Electronics corporation.
