Vivo V2 ISP chip is officially here
The Vivo brand held a technology conference in China called "Dual-Core X Imaging Technology" and introduced the Vivo V2 ISP chip at it. In addition, it also announced a close collaboration with MediaTek on new Vivo phones that will receive the Dimensity 9200 flagship processor . As more and more smartphone users are clamoring for quality cameras as well as photos, it is surely essential that Vivo is trying to improve the cameras with ISP chips that communicate well with the processors.
As we already mentioned, the Vivo V2 chip is built to take full advantage of high-speed communication with the Dimensity 9200 processor. It is the third generation ISP chip and follows on from the previous V1 and V1 Plus chips. The new chip has more memory, more functions and supports AI computing. The chip also has a DLA Vivo AI deep learning accelerator module connected to a large-capacity SARAM (Static RAM) cache. Thanks to this, the Vivo V2 chip has unrivaled computing power. At the same time, energy efficiency has also increased and energy consumption has decreased.
Vivo's ISP chips are designed to quickly capture and process photos, and the resulting photo outputs are high-quality and noise-free. For this purpose, the new Vivo V2 ISP chip has a special Ultra Zoom EIS algorithm, which combines OIS, EIS and IMU to better zoom in on the photographed scene without losing image quality.
Certainly an interesting new function supported by the V2 chip is zero latency and motion detection, which is useful when photographing objects in motion. So the photo is actually taken at the moment the shutter is pressed and without a delay, which could make the resulting image blurry. In the chip, the manufacturer also used RawEnhance 2.0 technology, which will allow you to create high-resolution photos in very poor lighting. So it seems that Vivo V2's new ISP chip will greatly boost the cameras of Vivo phones. One of the first phones to receive this chip and the Dimensity 9200 processor will be the Vivo X90 model .
