Xiaomi 13 is finally here
Xiaomi has also prepared its new flagship phones this year. Of course, it reserved the premium Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor for them, but the launch of the phones got a little complicated this year. The manufacturer announced the first date for the introduction of December 1st, but immediately canceled it and after some time announced that the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro models will be released on December 11th. And so it happened . Compared to last year's models, this year's ones have a bunch of improvements and run on a new version of the MIUI 14 superstructure based on Android 13. So first, let's see what the standard version of the phone has to offer.
The design of the Xiaomi 13 model has been redesigned this year . The edges are flat, just like the display. However, the corners of the phone are significantly rounded. The bezels around the screen are very narrow with a thickness of 1.61 mm. The chin is also narrow with a thickness of 1.81 mm. In the center of the top of the display is a "hole" for the front camera. The appearance of the main camera module has also been redesigned. It's square with rounded corners that match the rounded corners of the phone's body. There are three sensors and a dual LED flash in the module. Overall, the design of the Xiaomi 13 is simple but still interesting.
The display is of the E6 AMOLED type with a diagonal of 6.36 inches, a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The sampling frequency reached 240 Hz and the brightness up to 1900 nits. The screen supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the usable area is 93.3%.
As already said and we all know for a long time, the standard Xiaomi 13 model is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor with new LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage. The specific capacity of the operating memory is 8/12 GB and the internal memory is 128/256/512 GB. Connectivity is represented by 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (L1/L5), NavIC, USB-C and NFC. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display, and the manufacturer also added an IR blaster, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification. As a big bonus, there is also resistance according to IP68 certification. The cooling system is also improved.
The battery has a capacity of 4500 mAh and supports fast wired charging with a power of 67 W, as well as 50 W wireless charging and 10 W reverse wireless charging. The operating system is Android 13 with MIUI 14 superstructure.
The Xiaomi 13 not only has a revised design of the main camera module, but here too we can find improvements compared to last year's model. The optics and software are once again provided by Leica. Each of the three sensors has special Leica optical certification, high resolution, high brightness and minimal distortion. All this is said to guarantee excellent quality of photo outputs. The primary sensor has a size of 1/1.56 inches, a resolution of 50 MP, a focal length of 23 mm and an aperture of f/1.8. It is a Sony IMX800 sensor that supports Hyper OIS. The second, 12 MP sensor, works as a wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view and an aperture of f/2.2. The last 10 MP sensor serves as a telephoto lens with a focal length of 75 mm, 3.2 × native zoom and OIS support. The front camera received a 32 MP sensor.
The Xiaomi phone 13 goes to the market in White, Black, Flora Green and Mountain Blue colors. However, there is also a limited edition of color variants available, where we can find colors such as red, yellow, green and deep blue. Pre-orders in the Chinese market are already running, sales will start on December 14. The prices of individual memory versions are as follows:
