MIUI 15 update: What does it mean for your Xiaomi?

Xiaomi , the Chinese tech giant, has launched the Android 14 beta program. With this program, Xiaomi users can get a preview of the upcoming MIUI 15 software before its official release. The move shows Xiaomi's commitment to providing the latest software experiences and features to its devices. Extending software support allows Xiaomi users to keep their smartphones and tablets running longer. And at the same time ensure their safety.

The Android 14 beta program is currently live for the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 12T devices for the global versions. Even the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 6 China Edition are part of this program. Users of these models can thus familiarize themselves with the new functions of the software versions MIUI 14 or MIUI 15. And those that are based on Android 14.

It is important to note that although many Xiaomi users are entitled to enjoy the latest features of Android 14 , some devices will remain on Android 13. Sadly, they will not receive the MIUI 15 update based on Android 14, exactly according to Xiaomi's software update policy.

We understand that this may be disappointing for those who won't have access to the advanced features of Android 14. However, MIUI 14 still offers a fantastic user experience with its array of features. While these devices will not receive MIUI 15 updates based on Android 14, they will continue to receive support and security patches from Xiaomi. Apart from missing other features brought by Android 14, users still have the option to have many MIUI improvements on their phone.

As always, Xiaomi's MIUI 15 updates are packed with new features and improvements. Expected release date is November. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the official list of supported and unsupported devices. But don't panic if your device isn't on the supported list. The official announcement might bring some changes. So take this information with a grain of salt until we get an official list of supported devices directly from Xiaomi. And that will probably happen soon.
