Its co-founder and CEO, Mr. Jean-Francois Baril, announced on the LinkedIn platform that they plan to expand their portfolio and introduce new phones under their own HMD brand. He literally said that with this he will enter a new era.

But Baril reassured fans of Nokia phones that they will definitely not lose them. The company still intends to produce them together with the new own-brand phones. Cooperation with new partners is also associated with the new brand of phones, but it does not specify who it is specifically. But they definitely see new partners as a great asset. There are more and more strong competitors in the smartphone market and HMD Global feels the need to define and differentiate itself more clearly. And this despite the fact that Nokia phones have a long and respected history.

Jean-Francois Baril also shared that the Nokia brand, by extension HMD Global, is the fastest-growing 5G phone manufacturer year-on-year and a leader in sustainability, mainly thanks to easy-to- repair phones . They want to continue this trend with HMD phones, which they will soon introduce to consumers around the world. He pointed out that these are high-quality, but still affordable mobile devices.
