After the Dimensity 9300 Plus and Dimensity 8250 processors , MediaTek also introduced the Dimensity 7300 and 7300X chipsets. The former is a successor to the Dimensity 7050 processor, and the latter supports dual displays, meaning it's designed for flip-folding phones. However, the parameters are essentially the same and are intended for mid-range devices.
Both new MediaTek processors are built on 4nm manufacturing technology. Both have eight cores divided into two clusters with a 4/4 architecture. The first four Cortex-A78 cores are clocked at 2.5 GHz and the next four Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 2.0 GHz. As a GPU, the manufacturer used Arm Mali-G15 MC2 graphics with MediaTek HyperEngine to improve the gaming experience. The chipsets offer up to 20% faster FPS and 20% better energy efficiency than their predecessors. The manufacturer also promises 25% lower energy consumption.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 series processors also come with “smart resource” optimization, network optimization for gaming, and Bluetooth LE support with Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio technology. There is also support for LPDDR5 operating memory and UFS 3.1 internal storage and the new 12-bit HDR IPS Imagiq 950. As part of the photo equipment, there is support for a 200 MPix main camera.
Thanks to improved hardware engines, they also provide accurate noise reduction (MCNR), face detection (HWFD) and HDR video. Focusing is up to 1.3x faster and photo remastering is up to 1.5x faster than the Dimensity 7050. The APU 655 promises twice the AI performance of the Dimensity 7050. The displays have support for WFHD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz or FullHD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. MediaTek has not yet revealed which specific phones will get these new chipsets, but according to tipsters, the Motorola Razr 50 foldable phone will be the first to get the Dimensity 7300X.
