Affordable Redmi Pad Pro 5G introduced
Xiaomi has introduced a new variant of its Redmi Pad Pro tablet that addresses a key limitation of the original version . This variant with 5G support, i.e. Redmi Pad Pro 5G, caters to users who are looking for a mobile data connection in addition to the impressive features of the device for entertainment and productivity.
REDMI PAD FOR 5G INTRODUCED WITH MOBILE CONNECTION AND A COMPETITIVE PRICE
PERFORMANCE AND DISPLAY
At its core, the new 5G-enabled Pad retains the strengths of its Wi-Fi-only base model. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset provides balanced computing power and efficiency. The inclusion of a 5G modem then ensures that users can use high-speed mobile networks for tasks such as streaming, downloading and playing online games.
The centerpiece of the tablet is a good 12.1-inch IPS LCD display that boasts a sharp resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. The display refresh rate of 120 Hz promises a smooth image and a quick response. This is ideal for gamers, content creators and general users alike. To increase durability, Xiaomi equipped the display with protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the peak brightness of 600 nits ensures clear visibility even in bright environments.
CAMERAS
Although the Redmi Pad Pro 5G prioritizes productivity and entertainment, it also offers basic camera functions. The rear part is equipped with an 8Mpx primary sensor with LED flash for taking occasional photos or documents. The front 8MP camera is used for video conferencing.
SOFTWARE, BATTERY AND STORAGE
Additionally, the tablet uses Xiaomi's latest HyperOS user interface, built on top of Android 14. This combination provides users with a familiar yet customized Android experience. A significant advantage of the Redmi Pad Pro 5G tablet is its massive battery with a capacity of 10,000 mAh. It promises longer use on a single charge. The device also supports up to 33W fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the battery when needed.
In terms of storage, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G comes in two configurations. 6GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. Users looking for additional storage can take advantage of the microSD card slot for further expansion.
REDMI PAD PRO 5G: DESIGN AND AVAILABILITY
The new 5G-enabled Pad is currently shipping in China in a sleek dark gray color scheme. But a wider range of colors will be available for the global launch. Xiaomi has priced the tablet competitively, with the 6GB/128GB variant starting at CNY 1,999 (around $275). The 8GB/256GB version is slightly more expensive at CNY 2,399 (about $330 USD).
