Moto S50 Officially Launched in China: Compact Yet Powerful

Not so long ago, Motorola launched the Moto S50 Neo in China. Following this, tipsters and manufacturers hinted at the development of another model in the series—the Moto S50. Now, this compact yet feature-packed smartphone has officially launched in the Chinese market, offering an excellent option for users who prefer smaller, more affordable devices. Let’s dive into the key specifications of the Moto S50.

Main Specifications of the Moto S50

The Moto S50 adheres to Motorola's well-established design language. The rear panel features a square camera module positioned in the upper left corner, housing three sensors and an LED flash. The display is surrounded by narrow, symmetrical bezels, with a centered “hole-punch” for the front camera.

Display

The Moto S50 sports a 6.36-inch LTPO pOLED display with a resolution of 2670 × 1272 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. With a brightness level reaching up to 3000 nits, the display also integrates a fingerprint sensor, making the Moto S50 a compact yet premium device.

Performance

Under the hood, the Moto S50 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The device is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, ensuring durability. The 4310 mAh battery supports 68W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It runs on Android 14 with the Hello UI skin on top.

Camera System

In terms of photography, the Moto S50 is equipped with a 50MP primary camera featuring a Sony IMX896 sensor with OIS support. Additionally, there’s a 13MP wide-angle lens with a 123° field of view and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. For selfies, the front camera has a 32MP sensor.

Availability and Pricing

The Moto S50 is available in China in three Pantone colors: Persimmon Orange, Flora Blue, and Latte. The device is currently on sale on Lenovo's Chinese website. The 12GB/256GB variant is priced at 2,199 yuan (approximately $309), while the 12GB/512GB version costs 2,499 yuan (approximately $351).
