Motorola launches Air Charging, almost ready for market

Earlier this year, Motorola demonstrated a virtual wireless charging technology that requires no physical connection between the device and the charger. Months later, the Lenovo brand now releases an updated version of this technology.

Previously, Motorola called its true wireless charging technology 'Motorola One Hyper'. From 2019 it was weird that the brand used a name associated with its budget smartphone. That is why the company has changed its name to Motorola Air Charging.

Not only does Motorola's true wireless charging get a new name, it is also a fully functional prototype like the Xiaomi My Air Charge. For those who don't know, Xiaomi's solution is just a concept.

According to the official announcement on Weibo, the Motorola Air Charging technology can charge up to 4 devices at the same time. It works within a range of 3m and 100.

The company says its solution uses 1600 scanned antennas for regular devices. With the help of this network configuration, independent chipset and algorithm the company demands a stable charge.

Lenovo's sub-brand also claims that the solution works through paper, leather and similar objects. For security reasons, however, the 'biological surveillance technology' stops charging when a human presence is detected.

Unfortunately, Motorola does not say when it will commercialize its aeronautical charging solution. Interestingly, it does not mention Guru Wireless Inc., the company responsible for this technology.

That said, one Lenovo executive hints that the Motorola Air Charger is almost ready to hit the market.
