Realme has officially launched the much-anticipated Realme GT8 alongside the GT8 Pro in China. Although both models share similar designs, the GT8 stands out with some unique tweaks in hardware, performance, and camera configuration, making it an exciting flagship option for 2024.
The Realme GT8 continues Realme’s modern and minimal design trend, featuring a bold camera island that is not customizable this time — so users need to choose their favorite color carefully. It comes in White, Green, and Blue, with the green variant offering a unique micro-texture finish, while the others sport a matte appearance.
The smartphone flaunts a 6.79-inch AMOLED LTPO display with a crisp 1440p resolution, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 4,000 nits peak brightness. It supports adaptive brightness and excellent contrast levels for outdoor visibility, delivering a flagship-level viewing experience.
Under the hood, the Realme GT8 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, replacing the Gen 5 variant found in the GT8 Pro. This high-end SoC ensures ultra-smooth performance, efficient multitasking, and top-tier gaming capabilities.
The phone runs on Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0, which brings a refreshed interface, improved battery management, and better AI integration across apps. Users can expect seamless app transitions, faster animations, and highly optimized performance for daily use and gaming.
One of the major highlights of the Realme GT8 is its 7,000mAh battery, designed for all-day endurance. The phone supports 100W wired fast charging, capable of reaching a full charge in around 45 minutes — just a couple of minutes slower than the GT8 Pro’s 120W charging system. However, wireless charging support has been dropped in this model.
Realme continues its collaboration with Ricoh to deliver professional-grade photography. The main camera features a 50MP 1/1.56-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 22mm lens. It supports Ricoh’s signature color profiles including High-Contrast B&W, Monotone, and Standard modes, ensuring realistic color tones and sharp image output.
The telephoto camera has been replaced with a 50MP 80mm f/2.8 lens — a longer-reaching alternative that provides detailed portraits and zoom shots. Meanwhile, the ultrawide sensor has been downgraded to an 8MP unit, offering half the resolution compared to the Pro model but still delivering decent versatility for wide-angle photography.
The Realme GT8 features a redesigned camera app developed in collaboration with Ricoh. It offers simplified manual controls, improved night mode, and enhanced AI scene detection to give users a more professional photography experience.
The Realme GT8 is available in China starting today in multiple storage variants. Realme has yet to confirm its global launch timeline, but enthusiasts can expect it to reach international markets soon.
