Nubia Z80 Ultra Launches with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Power
The Nubia Z80 Ultra has officially made its debut in China, featuring major upgrades that push performance and photography to new heights. Packed with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, an advanced camera setup, and a powerful 7,200mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery, the flagship is designed to compete with the best smartphones of 2025. Nubia has confirmed a global launch on November 6.
Immersive Display with Under-Display Camera
The Z80 Ultra boasts a stunning 6.85-inch BOE X10 AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution (1,216 × 2,688 pixels) and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. For a completely immersive experience, Nubia continues its innovation with a 16MP under-display selfie camera, offering a full-screen design without any notches or punch holes.
Pro-Level Camera System with AI Photography
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate Nubia’s signature 35mm equivalent main camera, now enhanced with a large 1/1.3-inch Omnivision 990 sensor. It’s paired with a 64MP periscope telephoto lens (1/2-inch sensor) supporting 3x optical zoom, and an 18mm ultrawide shooter with a 1/1.55-inch sensor for breathtaking landscape shots.
New AI-powered photography filters automatically suggest the best color profiles, though users can also fine-tune tones manually for complete creative control.
Optional Photography Kit for Creators
Nubia has introduced an optional Photography Kit priced at CNY 669 (≈$95). The kit sports a stylish vintage camera design and includes a “T-mount” for attaching external lenses, as well as a cold shoe mount for accessories like microphones and lights — perfect for content creators and mobile photographers.
Performance and Cooling
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip is paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. To maintain consistent performance, Nubia integrated a liquid metal cooling system similar to the Red Magic gaming series, along with a 3D Ice Steel VC heat sink for superior thermal management during heavy usage.

Powering the Nubia Z80 Ultra is a massive 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. This ensures users can enjoy extended battery life and incredibly fast recharging times.
