Xiaomi 12 Ultra to feature enhanced telephoto camera setup

The Xiaomi 12 Series is expected to launch before the end of the year. Before Xiaomi debut the Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Ultra next year, the Vanilla Xiaomi 12 is set to be released in China this year. A new leak has now given the much-needed revival to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra as well.

According to Chinese tipster Bold Panda, Xiaomi is preparing to upgrade its telephoto camera on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The leaker claims that Xiaomi will replace the 1/2-inch 48 MP sensor on the Mi 11 Ultra with an upgraded 1 / 1.5-inch 50 MP sensor.

Since ISOCELL GN5, Sony IMX766, and OmniVision OV50A all fit that description, we are not sure which sensor it is specifically for. Xiaomi is largely leaning towards Samsung's camera hardware, so the ISOCELL GN5 is the most preferred competitor.

However, this is a serious upgrade of the flagship zoom software. Reports also confirm that Xiaomi will be using the Xiaomi 12 Ultra's triple 50 MP system, with the company looking to use the super ISOCELL GN2 as its flagship camera again. In addition, a puzzle post from Tipster Digital Chat Station shows that Xiaomi is moving to a better sensor, using a longer-range magnifying lens and seems to want to maintain its 5x telephoto lens.
