Qualcomm confirmed the introduction on May 20

For some time now, the tipsters have been announcing that Qualcomm is working on the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus processor and now also on the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset. But it was still a question of when it would take place. Although there was speculation that the manufacturers would present the processors together during May / May, there were also rumors on the network about the postponement of their introduction. We now know that the "Snapdragon Night" event is scheduled for May 20, which was confirmed by a trailer at Weibo in China . The presentation will be broadcast online from 8 pm local time.

But Qualcomm is a bit stingy about the word, because it only unobtrusively indicated that a new Snapdragon mobile platform would be launched, but did not specify what specific processor it would be. However, the tipsters are clear about this and claim that basically nothing but Snapdragon 7 Gen1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus can make their debut. In addition, the new name will be extended to the "seven" series of chipsets, and thus the names of the processors will begin to unify.

QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON 7 GEN1 

So far, we only know what the initiated tipsters estimate about this brand new chipset. The processor is eight cores with four powerful Cortex-A710 cores, which have a clock frequency of 2.36 GHz. The other four Cortex-A510 cores run at 1.8 GHz. The Adreno 662 graphics are paired with them. One of the first phones to receive this chipset is the Oppo Reno 8 , which will see the light of day shortly after the launch of the processor, specifically on May 23 / May.

SNAPDRAGON 8 GEN1 PLUS 

We probably don't have to add that this chipset is an improved version of the original flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor. It is built on the 4nm TSMC production process. It has a 1/3/4 core architecture with the strongest Cortex-X2 core with a clock frequency of 2.99 GHz. There are also three Coretex-A710 cores and four efficient Cortex-A510 cores. The processor offers up to 10% better CPU performance and we also expect improved GPU performance. The first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus may be the Motorola Frontier , or the OnePlus 10 Ultra, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and also in other phones that will appear in the second half of this year.
