OnePlus Open will arrive at the end of next month
Fans of OnePlus phones can rejoice. That is, if they are eagerly awaiting the launch of the brand's first foldable phone. The tipsters have given it the working name OnePlus Fold, but it looks like the foldable device will go on sale as the OnePlus Open, which isn't that boring after all. The manufacturer worked on its first folding phone for quite a long time and yet confirmed at this year's MWC that it will be presented by the end of the year. Now it looks like we don't have to wait that long.
ONEPLUS OPEN PROMISES DECENT PERFORMANCE
Although the date of the introduction of the foldable OnePlus Open model has not yet been officially confirmed, it is announced on Twitter by quite reliable tipster Max Jambor. They claim that the phone will debut on August 29th at a big launch event in New York. The event will be streamed online, so virtually any fan can attend. At the same time, the brand continues its expansion into the American market, where it wants to sell its first foldable phone. At the same time, it will also create some competition for the folding phone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, as sales will expand to other global markets.
Already according to the first estimates and published rendered images, the foldable phone has a pretty decent foothold. It is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor. It will reportedly be paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The internal AMOLED display is said to have a diagonal of 7.8 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The external AMOLED screen is 6.3 inches and has the same refresh rate as the internal screen.
The OnePlus Open has a 4800mAh battery, which is decent for a foldable phone. The battery supports fast charging with a power of 67 W. Not even photo equipment can be thrown away, according to tipsters. The main camera is triple with a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX581 wide-angle lens and a 64MP telephoto lens. It is possible that the telephoto lens will be periscopic. The operating system is Android 13 with Oxygen OS 13 superstructure with special modifications for foldable devices.
